SDM visits Nakodar, takes stock of flood-prone areas

Jalandhar 23 July –

Nakodar Sub-Divisional Magistrate Amit Kumar Panchal today visited flood-prone areas falling in the Nakodar sub-division and reviewed the arrangements being made by the district administration to strengthen vulnerable points.

Panchal, along with tehsildar Inder Dev Singh Minhas and others, visited Lohgarh village in the sub-division.

The SDM said the district administration was keeping a close vigil to avoid any sort of untoward incident due to rain during the monsoon season.

He also directed officials to strengthen flood-prone sensitive places to minimise damages in case of excess rain.

He said the administration would make adequate arrangements to meet any sort of situation in the wake of the rainy season.

Panchal also had a detailed interaction with officials of the Irrigation and Drainage Department regarding their proposals for these works. He asked them to ensure the works were completed in a time-bound manner.

He said a foolproof mechanism would be evolved for fortifying weak points so that people did not face any during the rainy season.
